Booking Terms and Conditions

Introduction:

The property you are renting is equipped to meet your needs during your holiday. You will find furniture, bedding, crockery, bed linen and towels. As soon as you arrive at the accommodation, you may carry out an inspection and report any issues (cleanliness, damage to fixtures and fittings, etc.) within 24 hours.

Number of guests and external visitors:

We are letting you our property for the exact number of holidaymakers specified at the time of your booking. If you wish to host visitors during your stay, please seek our prior consent. Guests not included in the booking are not permitted.The total number of occupants must not exceed 12 people.

Parties and events at the property:

Parties, events and large gatherings are not permitted in our holiday let. Hen and stag parties are strictly prohibited.

Use of the premises and care of the property:

Throughout your stay, you must treat the premises with respect. You must make good use of the equipment and look after the property so that it is returned in perfect condition upon your departure.

Kitchen utensils, oil, spices and cleaning products are at your disposal throughout your holiday.You are not permitted to move the furniture.

The Wi-Fi password providing you with an internet connection is confidential information. Please do not share it with anyone outside your travel group.

In the event of an accident or damage, it is your responsibility to inform the owners before you leave.

General safety guidelines:

As hosts, we cannot be held liable for theft, loss or damage to the property if it is not properly secured (windows closed and front door locked). Similarly, please do not leave any electrical appliances switched on whilst you are away. The holiday home is fitted with smoke detectors.

Please do not leave young children unattended in the property, particularly near the swimming pool.

Regarding the barbecue on the terrace, please use it in accordance with safety measures and take care to monitor the weather (risk of fire). As with other equipment, the barbecue must be cleaned after use.

Swimming pool:

The swimming pool is available for your use between May and September (subject to weather conditions).

In accordance with French regulations, access to the swimming pool is secured (anti-drowning mat). Swimming is unsupervised; it is the tenants’ responsibility to ensure their own safety and that of their children.

As owners, we cannot be held liable for any accidents occurring whilst using the swimming pool.

Non-smoking accommodation:

The Château du Colombier is a non-smoking property. Smoking is therefore strictly prohibited inside the accommodation.

Ashtrays are available outside the property. Please do not leave cigarette ends in the garden or on the terrace. Please ensure that your cigarette ends are completely extinguished to prevent the risk of fire, particularly outdoors in summer.

Payment terms:

All pre-paid bookings are non-refundable.

  • 50% is payable at the time of booking.
  • The remaining 50% is payable 7 days before arrival.

Security deposit:

A refundable security deposit of €3,000.00 is payable in the event of damage. This can be provided by cheque (uncashed) or via a link to pay by credit/debit card (which does not affect withdrawal limits or payment limits).

Consumption during your stay:

Any wine provided and consumed during your stay, as well as orders from the bakery, are to be settled at the end of your stay upon check-out, in cash or by bank transfer. 

Electric cars:

Similarly, the charge for electric cars, billed at €10 per charge, is to be paid to me under the same conditions.

Tourist tax:

The tourist tax must be paid in advance or on arrival, in cash or by bank transfer. A detailed invoice will be sent to you a few days before your stay.

The proportional tax rate is 5.00% of the cost of the overnight stay excluding VAT, capped at €4.80 plus additional tax. Amount due = Number of guests liable and not exempt × Number of nights’ stay × Proportional tax rate plus surcharge. Cost per night excluding VAT = Accommodation price excluding VAT for the stay / Number of nights’ stay / Number of guests. A 10 per cent surcharge applies in respect of the additional departmental tax.

Check-in / Check-out:

Check-in is from 4.00 pm, and check-out is by 10.00 am at the latest. Outside the summer season, these times may be adjusted, subject to the gîte’s availability and with the owner’s prior consent.

On departure, the house must be left in the same condition as on arrival, with bed linen and towels gathered in the ground-floor bedroom. Glass must have been disposed of in the special bins provided by the local council. All outdoor furniture must be returned to where it was found on arrival.

Pets & the presence of a cat on the estate:

A cat lives on the estate and may enter the house. We are therefore unable to accommodate guests with severe allergies to cat hair at the Château.

Due to the cat’s presence, pets – including dogs and cats – are not permitted.

Penalties for breaching the house rules:

Should the tenant fail to comply with the house rules, the owners reserve the right to impose appropriate penalties:

  • Termination of the tenancy agreement with forfeiture of the security deposit. You will be required to vacate the premises before the agreed departure date following the premature termination of your stay.
  • In the event of damage or breakages, the items must be replaced with identical ones or reimbursed to the owner using the security deposit. The tenant may claim on their home insurance under the holiday extension cover in the event of major damage noted on departure.
